1. I warrant that I am older than 18 years of age.
  2. I am presently in good health and know of no medical condition that may impair my ability to remain in the competition.
  3. For female finalists: I am not pregnant and will not fall pregnant for the duration of the competition.
  4. I am of sound mind and good moral character.
  5. I agree to make myself available, at my own expense, at such times and in such locations as COPPERSTONE may reasonably require in respect of the competition including without limitation rehearsals, publicity, press calls, photographs, television, publicity or event-recordings and/or other contributions. Such events will be organised and paid for by COPPERSTONE.
  6. I irrevocably give consent and agree to COPPERSTONE, and its authorised representatives, affiliates and assigns, to the unrestricted absolute and perpetual use of names, pictures, likeness, voice, photographs, biographical information and statements for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation, notification or permission, unless where prohibited by law. I also waive the right to inspect or approve such pictures, postings, advertising, videos used in connection thereof.
  7. I am free to enter into this agreement and hereby agree to indemnify COPPERSTONE in respect of all actions, proceedings, claims, damages and other liabilities which may be brought against or incurred by COPPERSTONE as a result of the breach of any of my warranties, representations or obligations contained in this agreement. I agree that in the event of any breach of this agreement by COPPERSTONE I shall not be entitled to injunct the competition and any legal remedy I may have shall lie in an action at law for damages only.
  8. I hereby warrant that I do not have any of the following:
  • contract for talent representation (for example, an agent or manager);
  • music recording contract;
  • an acting and/or modelling contract;
  • entry in any other competition;
  • a merchandising agreement;
  • and/or any other contractual arrangement that would prohibit you from participating in the Humanitarian of the Year competition.
  1. By entering this Competition, I (as participant or winner) hereby: irrevocably and unconditionally grants to COPPERSTONE an exclusive, irrevocable, fully paid, perpetual, universal license to use, copy, sublicense, transmit, distribute, publicly perform, publish, delete or display such entry, or any portion thereof, in any media now known or hereafter devised including, but not limited to, all forms of television, video and all forms of internet and wireless protocol without any further notice, permission, compensation or consideration. I authorise COPPERSTONE and any of COPPERSTONE’s authorised representatives to utilise, in any manner and at any time as they deem fit, the entry or any part thereof, and to make derivative works from such material. I agree that the results and proceeds of such use shall become and remain the property of COPPERSTONE and shall be dealt with in any manner whatsoever at the discretion of COPPERSTONE and its assignees which shall have no obligations whatsoever to the finalists. I hereby irrevocably and unconditionally waive, renounces and relinquishes all claims he/she may have against COPPERSTONE in connection therewith and fully release COPPERSTONE from all such claims and any liability whatsoever in respect thereof.
  2. I shall indemnify and hold COPPERSTONE harmless against all action, award, claim or other legal recourse, complaint, cost, debt, demand, expense, fine, liability, loss, outgoing, penalty or proceeding which may be suffered or incurred by COPPERSTONE which arise directly or indirectly in connection with any breach or non-compliance with any of the Rules and Regulations contained herein.
  3. Notwithstanding anything stated or implied to the contrary in these Rules and Regulations, COPPERSTONE, Sponsors/Partners, production crew, administrative staff, employees or agents of the Competition shall not be liable to myself or any third party for death or personal injury, loss, damage (indirect, remote, special or consequential), costs or expenses of any nature in contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise howsoever arising.
  4. In the event of any dispute arising from this Competition, I irrevocably and unconditionally accept that the decisions of COPPERSTONE and the Competition judges are final and binding with regards to all matters in relation to and all aspects of this Competition.
  5. I acknowledge that COPPERSTONE reserve the right to amend the Rules and Regulations (including without limitation verbally) or terminate the competition at any time without liability to me. COPPERSTONE’s decisions shall be final.
  6. All personal details and/or information given in my application either in this form or otherwise must be truthful, accurate and in no way misleading. I undertake to inform COPPERSTONE immediately if any such information becomes inaccurate.
  7. All information provided may be used in connection with the production and promotion of the competition. By submitting my details I am agreeing that from time to time COPPERSTONE’s partners, sponsors, charities or associated companies may contact me with information regarding relevant services they feel may be of interest to me. In any such event, COPPERSTONE needs to be consulted first before any arrangement or agreement is made.
  8. I acknowledge that COPPERSTONE reserves the right to remove or disqualify me from the competition at their absolute discretion and that the decision of COPPERSTONE is final. I acknowledge that COPPERSTONE will have no liability to me if I am unable to attend or take part in the competition.
  9. COPPERSTONE reserves the right to disqualify any contestant if they supply untruthful, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information, have failed to abide by the Rules and Regulations and/or are in breach of the terms hereof.
  10. COPPERSTONE reserves the right to disqualify any contestant if they are deemed to be acting outside the spirit of the competition. COPPERSTONE’s decisions shall be final.
  11. The following duties must be taken into consideration for the duration of the competition:
    1. I am required to raise funds for competition purposes and chosen charities. A personal sponsorship of R10 000, 00 is required for participation in the competition.
    2. I am required to sell tickets to official events.
    3. I am required to source auction items for 3 charity auctions at official events during the year.
    4. I am required to participate in every challenge set by COPPERSTONE.
    5. I am required to promote myself on the official Facebook page, through my own social media, through my own media drives, at SMS voting stage, and at my own events.
    6. I will have to do at least one official fundraiser and one outreach project before the end of October.
    7. I will also adhere to guidelines set out by official sponsors for the competition.
  12. I agree that any marketing or promotional use of the COPPERSTONE or its partners, is prohibited without the prior approval from COPPERSTONE.
  13. In terms of content regarding any charity or institution we support, this will need to be in line with the principles and guidelines as communicated by the charity or institution and COPPERSTONE.
  14. For winners and runners-up: I hereby agree that COPPERSTONE will be assigned as my exclusive manager for the duration of reign. In the event of television or film opportunities, the winners of the Humanitarian of the Year will be represented exclusively by Brumilda’s Acting Agency and Academy and will be expected to make themselves available for all drama classes and possible auditions.
  15. For winners: I understand that I will be required to do 2 events in my year of reign, of which the first event needs to be before the announcement of the new semi-finalists to raise funds for the competition, and the second before the Gala Event, to raise funds for any charity of choice in that year. I will also be required to be at all official events, continue to promote the competition and its charities and adhere to all other requirements as set out in this Rules and Regulations contract. My inability to fulfil the terms of this contract may result in the forfeiture of their title and all related prizes. Furthermore, I shall be liable for any loss/damage suffered as a result by COPPERSTONE.
  16. I agree to adhere to the Code of Conduct (Below).
  17. I agree to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate’s Court in connection with any action or suit arising from this agreement and the finalists select as address to which notices may be sent and for the service and execution of legal process in any action which may arise directly or indirectly from this contract, the address as set out on the signature page of this document.


As a representative of COPPERSTONE Event Production & Creative Agency and the competition, I agree to the following code of conduct throughout the competition and in the event that I win, during my reign:I will always conduct myself in a manner that reflects positively on myself, the competition and in general.

  • I will accept responsibility for my actions and for the consequences of my actions.
  • I will support the concept of fairness and the value of diverse thoughts and opinions.
  • I will avoid situations that would adversely affect the credibility or public perception of competition.
  • I will be truthful and honest at all times and report instances of cheating or other dishonest acts that compromise the integrity of the competition.
  • I will never harass, intimidate or threaten my fellow contestants, the competition or its affiliates, assignees, contestants, judges, sponsors or organisers, or participate in harmful, malicious, inflammatory, defaming or slanderous speech towards them, whether it be oral, written or otherwise conveyed throughout the competition and thereafter.
  • I respect the security, safety and efficiency of ourselves and others. The misuse of legitimate drugs, or the use, possession, distribution or sale of illicit or controlled substances at any event or competition gathering, is strictly prohibited. I will not appear on stage or represent the competition while under any level of intoxication from prescription or non-prescription drugs, alcohol or any other controlled substance and understand this will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • I will remember that my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube or any other social media platform’s content is considered a reflection on me as a finalist and the HUMANITARIAN of the Year competition. All sexually suggestive photos and verbally explicit comments must be removed during the competition and during my reign. I will allow judges to view and monitor all my social media accounts. Examples of such material include but are not limited to:
  • Photos of contestants in undergarments.
  • Photos of contestants which place emphasis on or expose all or part of the chest (for females) or buttocks (for males and females) area.
  • Text or Post content that is insulting to an individual or a group of individuals.
  • Text or Post content that contains foul language, explicit and/or inflammatory comments or actions.
  • I agree to comply with any request which may be made by COPPERSTONE to immediately remove any material that they deem inappropriate or unbecoming. COPPERSTONE reserves sole discretion in these matters.
  • I will at all times be honest and transparent with sponsorships, contributions to charitable organisations and donations.
  • Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into at any stage of the competition. Any interference from a third party/parent/guardian, etc. will lead to immediate disqualification.
